If your gate drags, won't latch, or needs a lift every time you close it, the problem usually started the day it was installed. Gates put leverage on the hinge post every time they swing, and an undersized or shallow post slowly leans toward the opening.
The fix starts below ground. Gate posts should be larger and set deeper in concrete than line posts, especially for wide drive gates.
Next is the gate frame itself. Wood gates need a diagonal brace running from the bottom hinge corner up to the latch side. Metal gates need welded or properly fastened corners so the frame stays square.
Finally, hardware matters. Heavy-duty hinges sized for the gate's weight and an adjustable latch let you fine-tune the swing. If you already have a sagging gate, we can usually reset or replace the post and re-hang it without replacing the whole fence.
